Textile exports from Pakistan witnessed negative growth of 7.72% during the first ten months of the current fiscal year compared to the corresponding period of last year. Textile exports during July-April (2015-16) were recorded at US$ 10.39 billion compared to exports of US$ 11.26 billion during July-April (2014-15), according to the data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). Textile products that contributed to the negative growth included cotton yarn, exports of which dropped by 32% from US$ 1.59 billion last year to US$ 1.08 billion during the current fiscal year. Similarly, exports of cotton fabric declined by 9.89%, from US$ 2.08 billion to US$ 1.88 billion while exports of raw cotton decreased by 47.70%, from US$ 144.69 million to US$ 75.67 million. Pakistan's textile exports in April were recorded at US$ 1.03 billion compared to exports of US$ 1.07 billion in April 2015.
